Venezuelan president expresses concern about social media censorship against his government

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has expressed concern about the systematic censorship imposed by major international social media companies on content produced by official media and the government party.

Maduro highlighted that despite popular street mobilizations supporting the government, such news does not appear on social networks due to censorship.

Maduro stated that national majorities are mobilizing daily, but their activities go unreported.

He emphasized that his government is engaged in a battle on social media platforms.

The president also acknowledged that censorship extends to traditional media outlets, including private television and some radio stations.

According to Maduro, the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela has organized 64 mobilizations, involving over 600,000 people nationwide.

However, he claimed that these demonstrations are made invisible by the dominant Western media.

In response to these restrictions, Maduro called upon his government teams to intensify their efforts to overcome censorship and ensure the population is informed about the activities of the political movement he leads.
