Peruvian police have smashed 45 criminal gangs in Lima over the past three days

The Peruvian National Police (PNP) has broken up 45 criminal gangs in the capital city of Lima in the past three days, the Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) announced.

Metropolitan Lima is the name given to the city of Lima; the constitutional province of Callao borders it, and both form a single urban entity understood as the country’s capital.

Currently, Lima and Callao are under a state of emergency due to an increase in general crime.
