Chile rejects Andes Iron’s Dominga mining project

Chile's Committee of Ministers on Wednesday (18) refused approval for Andes Iron's controversial US$2.5 billion Dominga copper and iron mining project.

The committee is chaired by the Minister for the Environment and includes Ministers for Mines, Agriculture, Energy, Economy and Health.

He has the power to decide on environmental issues.

The Chilean Supreme Court dismissed appeals by communities and environmentalists against the mining project last May, saying the decision must be made . . .
