Exports from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau rise 45.9%

Goods exports from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau, in the first 10 months of the year, rose 45.9%, compared to the same period in 2021.

According to a statement from the Directorate of Statistics and Census Services, the value exported by Portuguese-speaking countries to the Chinese special administrative region, between January and October this year, was around €100 million.

The amount of goods imported from Macau by the Portuguese-speaking bloc fell by 74.2% year-on-year, to €239,000.

The October trade balance, according to the Directorate of Statistics and Censuses, recorded a deficit of €1.3 billion.

According to the institution, the trade balance deficit in the first ten months of 2022 amounted to €12.4 billion, less than around €1 billion compared to the same period last year.
