Cotecmar to start construction of Colombia’s fourth OPV by the end of the month

The public shipyard Cotecmar plans to start construction of the fourth ocean patrol vessel (OPV) for the Colombian Navy (ARC) at the end of February, Infodefensa.com has learned, at the company's facilities in the port of Cartagena de Indias.

The contract for developing the Patrullero Oceánico Colombiano (POC) type vessel was signed between the Navy and the shipyard on January 2 for US$36,479,000 as an advance payment (first payment).
