Covid-19: Brazil Records 290 Deaths and 12,300 Cases in 24 Hours (October 11th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Sunday, October 11th, the Ministry of Health released the Covid-19 figures in Brazil. Since the start of the pandemic to date, 5,091,979 cases of the disease have been diagnosed and 150,488 have died.

In the past 24 hours, 12,342 new cases and 290 deaths were recorded. Another 2,200 deaths are still under investigation and 474,000 people are under treatment. In all, 4.47 million people who had the disease are now classified as recovered.

The lethality rate stands at three percent and the mortality per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 71.6. The incidence of novel coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 2,424.5.

Covid-19 in the states

The state of São Paulo registers the highest number of infections since the start of the pandemic, with 1,037,660 cases and 37,256 deaths. Next are Bahia (325,957 cases and 7,128 deaths), Minas Gerais (322,936 cases and 8,127 deaths), and Rio de Janeiro (283,675 cases and 19,308 deaths).
