Covid-19: Brazil Accumulates 123,700 Deaths, 3.99 Million Cases (September 2nd)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil has reached 123,780 deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic. In the past 24 hours, health authorities have recorded 1,184 new deaths by Covid-19.

The data was released by the Ministry of Health during a press conference to present the epidemiological bulletin data on the disease. On Tuesday, the Ministry’s panel recorded 122,596 deaths. There are further 2,658 deaths under investigation.

According to the portfolio’s report, the number of cumulative cases reached 3,997,865. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, the state Health Secretariats identified 46,934 new infections. On Tuesday, the data system reported 3,950,931 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Still according to the update, 663,680 people are being monitored and another 3,210,405 have already recovered.

Covid-19 in the states

The states with the highest number of deaths are São Paulo (30,673), Rio de Janeiro (16,315), Ceará (8,480), Pernambuco (7,656), and Pará (6,201).

The states with the fewest deaths are Roraima (595), Acre (618), Amapá (668), Tocantins (701), and Mato Grosso do Sul (903).
