Covid-19: Brazil Counts Another 504 Deaths and 14,279 New Cases (September 8th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil has registered an additional 504 deaths and 14,279 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The numbers were reported in the Ministry of Health’s daily update, released on Tuesday evening, September 8th.

The total number of deaths now reaches 127,464. Yesterday, the Ministry’s panel counted 126,960. There are a further 2,485 deaths under investigation.

The cumulative cases of Covid-19 total 4,162,073. On Monday, the data system reported 4,147,794 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Still according to the update, 637,735 people are in follow-up and another 3,397,234 have already recovered.

Covid-19 in the states

The states with the highest number of deaths are São Paulo (31,430), Rio de Janeiro (16,646), Ceará (8,567), Pernambuco (7,741), and Pará (6,269).

The states with the fewest deaths to date are Roraima (598), Acre (630), Amapá (675), Tocantins (758), and Mato Grosso do Sul (987).
