RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After politicians, authorities, and civil society representatives repudiated President Jair Bolsonaro’s speech at a pro-dictatorship rally on Sunday, April 19th, Rodrigo Maia also expressed his views.
On Twitter, the Chamber president said he stood by Democracy to win the war against the coronavirus.
“The whole world is united against the coronavirus. In Brazil, we need to fight against the coronavirus and the authoritarianism virus. It’s more laborious, but we will win. On behalf of the Chamber of Deputies, I repudiate any action advocating the dictatorship, violating the Constitution”.
