Lula da Silva announces public investment in naval industry and oil and gas sector in Brazil

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, announced yesterday, Monday, that his government would promote public investment in the naval and oil and gas industries during a speech in Rio de Janeiro.

The president assured that his government would use the state-owned oil company Petrobras and the development entity Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) as vectors for public investment in key sectors such as hydrocarbon exploitation and the recovery of work in shipyards.

"Petrobras will reinvest in Rio de Janeiro, BNDES will reinvest in the productive sector, we must return to building. . .
