In worst August in 16 years, vehicle sales in Brazil fall 5.8% – Fenabrave

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The sales of new vehicles fell 5.8% last month against August 2020, reaching the lowest volume for the month in 16 years as a reflection of the lack of cars in the dealerships.

In total, 172,800 units were sold, among passenger cars, light utility vehicles, such as pickups and vans, trucks, and buses, according to the balance sheet released on Wednesday by Fenabrave, the association that represents the dealers.

Compared to July, the decrease was 1.5%, thus completing the third consecutive month of decline in placements.
