As the first round text was maintained in the second round of voting, the proposal need not be re-approved by a special committee.

Thus, it is ready to be forwarded to Senate, where it will go through the Committee on Constitution and Justice (CCJ) and where it also needs to be approved in two rounds of voting by the full Senate.

The bill is leaving the Chamber nearly six months after its submission to the government.

Should the Senate approve the Chamber’s bill unamended, it will be enacted by Congress and become an amendment to the Constitution.

If the Senate approves only a portion, it will be enacted, and whatever has been changed will be returned to the Chamber for consideration.
