RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – US carrier ExpressJet Airlines, which operates in the United States as United Express on behalf of United Airlines Holdings, announced on Monday, February 24th, that it will add 36 Embraer ERJ145 aircraft to its fleet over the next 12 months.
In a press release, the company said it intends to become the largest operator of the Brazilian 50-seat model in the world.
ExpressJet Airlines further said it will dispose of a small quantity of E175 aircraft in order to have a fleet consisting only of the ERJ145.
“We made a long-term commitment to the Embraer ERJ145 and designed a comprehensive cabin improvement, seating and entertainment to provide a contemporary consumer experience,” said Sarah Murphy, the company’s senior vice-president, in the statement.
