Brazil Outnumbers China in Covid-19 Cases, Ranks 10th in the World (April 30th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In the last 24 hours, Brazil recorded 435 more deaths and 7,218 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Ministry of Health’s report. This is the highest number of new cases in a day – the previous record was 6,276.

The Asian country has 83,944 confirmed cases, according to Johns Hopkins University in the United States, which monitors the pandemic.

On Tuesday, April 28th, in the total death toll Brazil had already passed China, where the virus emerged. On that day, the country broke a new record of deaths in 24 hours, with 474 new victims and 5,017 deaths by Covid-19 at the time.

China, which is witnessing a slowdown in the pandemic, has recorded 4,637 deaths.
