Bolsonaro Zeroes Taxes on Arms Imports From January 1st, 2021

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President Jair Bolsonaro said on Wednesday, December 9th, that the CAMEX (Chamber of Foreign Trade), under the Ministry of Economy, issued a decision to zero the import tax levied on firearms, such as revolvers and pistols.

The information was published by the President on his social media, in which he also said that the measure will come into force from January.

The easing of gun possession and carrying was a pledge of Bolsonaro’s election campaign, and he has already adopted a number of measures to enable it.
