From February 6 to 15, personnel from the Brazilian Air Force’s Space Operations Center took part in Global Sentinel 2024.
This event, led by the U.S. Space Force, aimed to foster international cooperation in space.
The United States Space Command organized it to boost Space Situational Awareness (SSA) among nations.
Participants included 25 countries, such as Germany, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and many others.
Tracking Earth’s orbiting objects requires a variety of sensors due to their natural or artificial origins.
Limited sensor availability highlights the importance of countries sharing data to improve global space awareness.
A major achievement of this exercise was refining the participating countries’ tactics and protocols for sharing orbital information.
The event also featured simulations related to space object observation and data management, emphasizing the value of international partnership.
