Twitter logo revamp, Elon Musk unveils “X” as new identity

Elon Musk, Twitter’s current owner, publicized plans to change the company’s logo in a string of posts on July 23, 2023. Utilizing the platform, Musk repeatedly posted the letter “X”, hinting at Twitter’s upcoming branding evolution.

In his posts, Musk signaled a future shift away from the traditional Twitter brand, stating, “We’ll soon move away from the twitter brand and gradually from all bird references.”

He further revealed, “If a satisfactory X logo is presented tonight, it’ll go global tomorrow.”

Subsequently, Musk shared a side-by-side comparison of the current bird logo and a blinking “X”.

The following morning, he posted a picture of himself forming an “X” with his arms in front of a Tesla panel, captioning it, “Unsure about subtle cues, but I like the letter X.”

In a live audio chat on Twitter Spaces, Musk confirmed the upcoming logo alteration, adding it was an overdue move.

Since acquiring Twitter in October 2022, Musk has implemented various changes, including rebranding the company as X Corp.

In April, the iconic blue bird was temporarily replaced by a Shiba Inu, a nod to the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, which rose 2,000% in value within a year.
