A plane crash in the Meta region of Colombia has led to the unfortunate death of five members of the Democratic Center political party, as confirmed by former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez.
Among the victims were Nora Tovar and her husband, Guillermo.
Uribe also noted the loss of three other party members, Óscar Rodríguez, Dimas Barrero, and the gubernatorial candidate of Meta, Felipe Carreño.
Further expressing the party’s grief, a tweet acknowledged the death of the aircraft’s pilot, Eliodoro Álvarez.
The reasons behind the crash of the Cessna T210N, en route from Meta to Bogotá’s Guaymaral airport, remain uncertain.
