Brazilian defense group unveils Armadillo rocket launcher at Army Artillery Day

Mac Jee, a leading defense group based in São José dos Campos, Brazil, showcased its state-of-the-art Armadillo rocket launcher, the world’s lightest and most compact ground-to-ground defense system, at Formosa on June 7th.

This demonstration was part of the Army Artillery Day celebrations and was attentively observed by prominent civilian and military authorities.

The Armadillo has been engineered for harsh operating conditions and boasts substantial offensive capabilities.

It features a rapid, compact 70mm multiple rocket launcher system that can be retracted during non-offensive phases.

“Our globally patented system stands unique in its class with such firepower compacted in a vehicle of this size,” Mac Jee CEO Alessandra Stefani remarked.

Equipped with three launcher pods, each loaded with 24 rockets and an automatic reloading mechanism, the Armadillo features integrated communication for broader operational coverage and an advanced navigation system that can function without a GPS signal.

It is highly mobile with a low center of gravity during movement and can fire at ranges of 10 km and 3 km in indirect and direct firing modes, respectively.

The Armadillo TA-2 model is a streamlined rocket launcher system that can supplement the firepower of smaller military units like battalions.

Operated by one individual in addition to the vehicle driver, it can be reloaded automatically without exposing the occupants.

Its mobile roof retracts the launchers into a sealed compartment when not in use, providing better vehicle stability and stealth during transit.

The demonstration at Army Artillery Day underscores the commitment of Brazilian companies and the Armed Forces to deliver high-quality defense technology.

“Participating in an event of this scale reaffirms the trust placed in us and our dedication to offering high value-added equipment to our Armed Forces,” Stefani concluded.
