A survey conducted by the Paraná Research Institute and released on Thursday, 25, indicates that the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republican), is seen by 25.8% of the population as a political successor to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) if he becomes ineligible.
According to the survey, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro is seen as his running mate’s successor by 14.3% of respondents.
The ally of the former chief executive and current governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo), appears in third place in the survey, with 9.3% of the survey responses.
Right behind, with 8.2% of the answers, comes Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ), son of the former president.
The governor of Paraná state, Ratinho Junior (PSD), appears in fifth place, with 6.8% of the population considering him as Bolsonaro’s successor.
Another 22.3% said they didn’t know, while 13.3% said no one would succeed Bolsonaro.
Tarcísio is seen as the main candidate to succeed Bolsonaro in all regions, with the highest percentage of votes in the Southeast (28.8%).
His highest rate was obtained in the Northeast (19.1%).
Flávio Bolsonaro had 11.3% in the region.
Ratinho Junior registers his best mark in the South (21.2%), while Zema has the highest rate in the Southeast (15.4%).
