Natural of Potirendaba, in the interior of São Paulo, Rafael de Brito, 30, was in first position and took the US$1 million prize.

Like him, four other Brazilians born in the countryside qualified among the five best athletes in the world bull riding championship.

Brito is the son of a bullfighter and has been a professional rider for about ten years.

His arrival in the international circuit, however, is recent.

According to the PBR Brazil website, he started competing outside of Brazil only in 2022, i.e., the year before he won the world championship.

In the final classification, the second and third positions also belong to athletes born in cities in the interior of Brazil.

José Vitor Leme (26), Kaike Pacheco (28), and Wingson Henrique da Silva were born in Ribas do Rio Pardo (MS), Itatiba (SP), and Naviraí (MS), respectively.
