Venezuela inaugurates National Experimental University of Electrical Specialties

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced yesterday the creation of the National Experimental University of Electrical Specialties, which will be dedicated to improving the national electrical system and exploring alternative energy options.

The first nucleus inaugurated today is located within the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Complex, which constitutes the fundamental nucleus of the Venezuelan national electric system and is located in the state of Bolívar (southeast).

Maduro affirmed that in the near future, eight centers would be set up in different entities of the country to massify specialized training in electricity and ordered to prepare its expansion to all the entities of the South American nation.

The new house of studies offers high training in electrical system management, network, and power systems engineering. It already has an enrollment of 442 students who are about to begin their studies.

Maduro also urged all workers of the National Electric Corporation to join in the formalization of their studies to accredit their knowledge and acquire new tools in favor of national development.

For his part, the country’s Minister of Electric Energy, Néstor Reverol, commented that the University is designed and dedicated to scientific-technological development and is a center of knowledge and innovation for improving the electric system.
