According to official figures released today, exports of goods from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau in the first eleven months of 2022 rose 49% compared with the same period of 2021.
The value exported by Portuguese-speaking countries to the Chinese special administrative region between January and November this year was €111 million, according to a statement from the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).
The number of goods imported from Macau by the Portuguese-speaking bloc fell 74.2% year on year, amounting to €233,000.
The November trade balance posted a deficit of €1.36 billion, the DSEC said.
Between January and November this year, exports reached €1.4 billion, up 6.4% from the same period last year, and imports of goods reached €14.9 billion, down 8.1% year-on-year.
The trade deficit for the first eleven months of 2022 was €13.4 billion, down €1.4 billion compared to the same period last year, the DSEC added.
