Brazil: a group of parliamentarians launches Lula government oversight team

On Tuesday (11), a group of 27 parliamentarians from nine different parties in the House and Senate announced the launch of a task force to oversee the federal government’s activities.

According to the group’s coordinator, Congressman Deltan Dallagnol, “the idea is that each group member will be responsible for a specific ministry of the Lula government.

The press called the Ministries Oversight Office task force “Operation Lava Lula,” referring to Operation Lava Jato.

The operation culminated in the conviction and imprisonment of the current president of the Republic, several members of leftist parties, and business people linked to the PT government.
