Guinea-Bissau opens to the world with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website

Guinea-Bissau’s chief diplomat Suzi Barbosa said this week that the country has “opened a window” to the world with the launch of the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We have opened a window of Guinea-Bissau to the world. That’s what we intended three years ago.”

“As an emigrant, that was my concern: to have daily information from my country,” said Suzi Barbosa.

The minister was speaking at the presentation ceremony of the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which can be accessed at www.mne.gw, made in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

On the official website of Guinea-Bissau’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one can find information on governmental action, the country’s embassies abroad, and news, with direct access to the state media.

“The Guinean who is abroad can, through this page, know what is happening in the day-to-day life of his country.”

“This is an accomplished goal, and as the person responsible for the diaspora, I think we are doing a service of immense public utility and allowing the diaspora to get closer to the country,” said Suzi Barbosa.
