Luanda is the 9th most expensive city in the world for business travel

According to ECA International, the Angolan capital, Luanda, ranked ninth in the ‘Top 10’ most expensive cities in the world for business travel in 2022.

With an average cost of US$564 per day, Luanda is once again among the ten most expensive business destinations in the world, above Paris, which closes the list.

The amount estimated in the study covers a stay in a four-star hotel, meals, cabs, and other expenses.

New York returned to being the world’s most expensive business travel destination in 2022, as a post-pandemic increase in business travel and tourism raised costs by 8% over the previous year.

The US dominated the overall ranking, with Washington DC, and San Francisco making the top five on the leaderboard, while Switzerland took the following positions with Geneva and Zurich.

Hong Kong was the most expensive destination in Asia, with average daily costs of US$520 – just US$5 more than the financial center’s rival, Singapore.
