Six more indigenous territories may have operations to remove those considered invaders by the federal government and security forces.

The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino (PSB), made the statement on Monday (20).

After the end of the actions in the Yanomami indigenous land in Roraima, the Executive plans to adopt similar initiatives throughout this year concerning the Karipuna and Uru-Eu-Wau-Wau territories, in Rondônia; Kayapó, Mundurucu, and Trincheira Bacajá, in Pará; and Arariboia, in Maranhão.

The expectation of the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is that the actions in Yanomami territory will be completed in April.

The information is from Agência Brasil.

“Our vision is that the deintrusion process will be concluded in April. On April 6, airspace control will be resumed,” the minister told the agency.

According to Dino, the National Security Force will remain in place for a few months after the withdrawal of the miners is completed.
