Cape Verdean banks’ profits rose to €42.5 million in 2022 

Commercial banks operating in Cape Verde recorded historic profits of €42.5 million in 2022, an increase of 26.5% over the previous year, according to provisional data from the central bank.

The regulator of the Cape Verdean banking market does not present individual data but advances that commercial banks added a positive net result of €42.5 million.

According to the recent ‘Indicators of the Banking System’ report of the Bank of Cape Verde (BCV) on the main financial and prudential indicators of Credit Institutions of Generic Authorization for December 2022, only four of the seven Cape Verdean commercial banks declared then that they would pay dividends to shareholders.
