Paraguay opens embassy in Abu Dhabi 

President Mario Abdo Benítez and Foreign Minister Julio César Arriola attended on Monday (13) the inauguration of the new Embassy of Paraguay in Abu Dabi, United Arab Emirates.

In his speech, Arriola highlighted this “historic moment” that reflects the excellent diplomatic relations between the two countries and confirms Paraguay’s commitment to consolidate bilateral relations and its determination to open new markets and strengthen the South American country’s presence in the Middle East.

While in the UAE, Abdo is scheduled to participate in the 2023 World Governance Summit, an annual forum held in Dubai that brings together heads of state and government, high-level representatives of international organizations, prominent intellectuals, and private sector leaders for a global dialogue on government policies in the field of innovation and technology.

From the United Arab Emirates, President Abdo will travel to Taiwan between February 15 and 18 to meet with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and discuss bilateral issues.

Paraguay and Taiwan will celebrate 66 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations next July.

Abdo will also attend the Women’s Empowerment Forum and an investment conference, where he will speak about the strengths and business opportunities Paraguay offers entrepreneurs.
