Formula E for the first time in Brazil: find out how to buy tickets

The first Brazilian stage of Formula E has a date and place. On March 25th, the streets around the Anhembi Sambadrome, in São Paulo, will receive the pilots for the sixth stage of the 2023 world championship.

The venue is expected to hold over 35,000 people on the Saturday of the race.

The value of tickets varies between R$300 and R$350 (US$57.9 and US$67.6), and half-price tickets can also be purchased.

The age classification is 16 years old, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

This will be the first time that Formula E will race in Brazil. But the country has been part of the history of the category since its inception.

Brazilian driver Lucas di Grassi was the first driver to guarantee his presence in the competition, in addition to being the first winner in history when he won the inaugural eprix of the championship, held in Beijing in 2014.

LUCAS DI GRASSI IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Driver Lucas di Grassi debuted on the right foot in the 2023 Formula E season.

On Saturday the 14th, the São Paulo driver who helped design the Sambadrome track took third place in the Mexico City ePrix.

”I didn’t expect to be third right away, with a new team (Mahindra Racing), a good start”, says di Grassi. “’Without a doubt the race in São Paulo will be very important for me, we’ll try to do our best there to get a good result.”

The victory went to the British Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti) and in second came the German Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche).

Lucas di Grassi’s podium was the 40th of his career in Formula E.

For Di Grassi, the location chosen to host the São Paulo stage is the most effective, and does justice to Formula E’s strategy of running in large centers.

”It’s the most effective place to hold a Formula E race. For those who don’t know, the category only runs on street circuits, and that’s why Interlagos wasn’t a possibility.”

NEXT STEP: SAUDI ARABIA

According to the pilot, this is not a contractual issue, but a strategic one. “Formula E holds all of its stages on street circuits,” he says.

The track in São Paulo is similar to the one used in Formula Indy years ago, but with a different layout.

The next stage of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be a double round, on the 27th and 28th of January, with the Diriyah ePrix, in Saudi Arabia.

Tickets for the 2023 Julius Baer São Paulo EPrix can now be purchased on the Eventim website.
