On December 30, 2022, the airline from the Brazilian state of Paraná, Aerosul Airlines, received authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of Paraguay to carry out international flights between the country and Brazil.
The route approved by the Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (Anac) was Foz do Iguaçu to Asunción, the Paraguayan capital. The forecast is that the first regular flights will start in January 2023.
The flights will be made with the Cessna C208 Grand Caravan plane, with capacity for nine passengers, and the same used on other Aerosul routes in the southern region of Brazil.
Today, the company based in the city of Arapongas operates in Curitiba, Londrina, Pato Branco, Apucarana, Foz do Iguaçu, Caçador, Florianópolis, Correia Pinto, Canela and São Miguel do Oeste.
