uShark invests in 6 Brazilian startups through crypto assets

uShark, a global startup investment platform through crypto assets, announces an investment of US$4.3 million in the first 10 startups since the beginning of its operations.

Launched in March 2022, the platform democratizes investor access to high-potential startups through blockchain transactions, and has already attracted more than 26,000 investors in 59 countries.

Of the first 10 startups that received investment from uShark this year, 6 are Brazilian; they are:

Agholmes (from the AI sector),

  • Cyklope (AI),
  • Kalliandra (IoT),
  • Agrimapp (AgTech),
  • AgroInsight (AgTech) and
  • Fire Limit (Biotech).

The other four startups invested were:

  • the American DataSíntese (Big Data) and
  • the Israeli Paygiliant (Cybersecurity),
  • Sling Insurance (Cybersecurity) and
  • Wisesight (IA).

The companies will receive their respective amounts invested in dollars and the total of each one will be distributed over six months, from the proof of the application of resources in the business and the results obtained.

“We are happy to announce that more than half of the selected startups are Brazilian. Soon we will also announce the second wave of investee startups that are part of this first pool of investees, with which we are already in advanced negotiations”, said Geraldo Marques, CEO, and founder of uShark.

All selected startups had their KPIs evaluated by 7 experts called “uShark Angels”, led by Kiran Govindaraju, alumni of the Harvard Business School and member of the Harvard Angels Chicago.

After this process, they were also approved by the investment committee of the private equity fund uShark Investments LP and, finally, by a vote of the investors holding the tokens.

THE FIRST 10 STARTUPS INVESTED BY uSHARK

  1. DataSíntese (Big Data-USA) – startup born in the center-east of Brazil, currently in the US, has Big Data, Data Analytics, AI and Machine Learning technologies for decision making.
  2. Paygiliant (Cybersecurity -Israel) – fintech fraud prevention solution startup designed to protect banks, eWallets, Crypto and more.
  3. Sling Insurance (Cybersecurity -Israel) – Startup that proposes a continuous and intelligent cyber insurance that automatically monitors the Darknet and the attack surface in search of risks and threats.
  4. Wisesight (IA – Israel) – startup that developed AI technology to create “smart parking lots”, offering automatic parking management in real time.
  5. Agholmes (IA – Brazil) – Agholmes is a platform that uses AI to perform accounting audits and identify errors in financial statements, ancillary obligations and tax information.
  6. Cyklope (IA – Brazil) – Startup that uses AI for resistance management, that is, the use of pesticides in the exact measure to reduce pests. Precision agriculture uses imagery and heat maps.
  7. Kalliandra (IoT – Brazil) – Brazilian startup, has irrigation management technology with data via IoT. With a focus on irrigated agriculture, it has a series of equipment for monitoring irrigation.
  8. Agrimapp (Agtech – Brazil) – It is a logistical support application for rural routes, an objective and practical tool that can be used by different audiences, from managers to drivers.
  9. Agro Insight (Agtech – Brazil) – Education and curation so that Agribusiness professionals can find quality digital content in one place.
  10. Fire Limit (Biotech – Brazil) – Solution designed to combat, block and extinguish large forest and agricultural fires. Compared to water, it is 5 times more effective in fighting fire and 100% biodegradable.

The DeFi USH token created by uShark is already listed on 3 global exchanges, including one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, BigOne Asia.

“We won over 26,000 investors from 59 countries in less than six months. We raised the equivalent of US$14.5 million and are expected to invest approximately US$8 million in 15 other startups soon. In addition, we will invest around US$2 million in the creation of our own startup accelerator that will be based in London”, says Geraldo Marques, CEO of uShark.
