Brazil’s coffee exports hit a record high in November

The Council of Brazilian Coffee Exporters (Cecafé) released its November report this Monday (Dec. 12).

According to the document, the foreign exchange revenue related to the exports of the product jumped 39.9% compared to November 2021, with a total of US$ 885.2 million, a historical record for November.

The national shipments of the product totaled 3.673 million 60kg bags, a volume 14.2% higher than in 2021.

For Cecafé’s president, Günter Häusler, global coffee consumption is strong, and the search for Brazilian coffee by the big importers is the main reason for the excellent performance of the product.

“The demand is maintained, and the large consumers continue to look to the world’s largest producer and exporter for the quality and diversity of our products,” he comments.

From January to the end of November this year, Brazil exported 36.057 million bags, a yearly drop of 1.8%.

The foreign exchange revenue, of US$8.504 billion, is a historical record for the interval, increased 55.1% in relation to the same interval in 2021 and already exceeded the total income achieved in the whole of last year.

Regarding the record revenue, Häusler explains that it results from the better level of quotations observed this year, despite recent falls in international markets and the favorable exchange rate.

“The average price of the bag of coffee exported by Brazil in 2022 is US$235.85, 58% above the average value observed in 2021,” he adds.
