Pelé shows “progressive improvement” and “no new complications

A new medical bulletin released on Tuesday, Dec. 6, by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein informs that Pelé has improved his health condition.

He has been hospitalized since Tuesday of last week.

In an interview given by his daughters to the TV program “Fantástico”, from Rede Globo, on Sunday, it was revealed that the soccer star had to treat a respiratory infection caused by Covid-19 a few weeks before being hospitalized.

“The patient continues to evolve with progressive improvement of the general condition, especially the respiratory infection. He remains in a common room, with stable vital signs, conscious and without new complications,” says the document.

Pelé received messages of support last Monday during the World Cup games.

Players of the Brazilian team took a banner to the field with the name of the King of Football after qualifying for the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

Before that, fans in Stadium 974 displayed a banner with his image and the message “Get well soon”.

In recent days, Pelé has received support and messages of affection from around the world.

Kylian Mbappé, the French national team star, also asked his fans to support Pelé’s recovery.

Mbappé is one of the highlights of the current Qatar Cup.

England striker Harry Kane also took to social networks to wish the “King of soccer” to get better.

On Sunday, Santos fans gathered in front of the hospital in the morning to hold a vigil for the King of Football.

In 2021, Pelé was diagnosed with colon cancer (intestinal region) and underwent surgery in September.

Since then, he has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
