Serious road accident leaves seven dead in southeastern Brazil

At least seven people were killed, including a baby and a child, in a serious road accident in the city of Oro Preto, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais (southeast), confirmed today by the Military Highway Police.

According to a battalion of that body, the victims were in four cars, which were involved in a head-on collision last night, but the causes of the incident are still unknown.

Despite the effort, the victims died at the scene of the collision, including the infant and the nearly three-year-old child, who was traveling in child seats.

Seven other people were injured and were treated in hospitals in the region. Authorities are investigating the causes of the fatal accident.
