Paraguay strengthens political and economic ties

Within the framework of strengthening political, economic and cultural ties, relevant national authorities such as Councilman Enrique Berni and the Mayor of Asunción, Óscar Rodríguez, were part of the Inter-American Conference of Mayors and Local Authorities that has been taking place for 25 years.

On this occasion, key meetings were held with Commissioner José “Pepe” Díaz and Senator Javier D. Souto, Miami Dade Commissioner, and the founder of the aforementioned conference.

Councilman Enrique Berni, in communication with La Nación/Nación Media, strongly emphasized that these types of activities and participations are extremely important when it comes to knowing and learning about strategies that are being implemented at the international level.

He also highlighted that the state of Florida, where Miami Dade County is located, is among the three most important states in the United States for its great economic and cultural potential.

“The fundamental thing for me was that together with the mayor of Asunción we held bilateral meetings with Senator Javier D. Souto in order to receive international cooperation from the county in three areas, the training of the Municipal Traffic Police, with all the knowledge and technical capacity that they have, what is related to the fire department to see if they receive support from the county fire department and the possibility of training and auditing certain furniture for public spaces,” said Berni.
