The new Ombudsman of Bolivia, Pedro Callisaya, took office on Tuesday, September 27, with the challenge of recovering the credibility and independence of that institution after being elected in a controversial session in Parliament.
Callisaya was sworn in at the Vice-Presidency before the President of the Parliament and Vice-President of the country, David Choquehuanca, legislators and several indigenous organizations, human rights activists, and activists for the defense of sexual diversity.
