Brazil’s Economy Minister Paulo Guedes believes Brazil can emerge from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as a significant world power.
He recalled that the same thing happened with the United States after the two world wars and said the country offers what other nations were looking for, such as energy and food security.
“Brazil is the frontier for new investment. We’re going to get an avalanche of investment in energy security.”
“Here in the Northeast, about 10 Itaipu’s will be made in wind energy in the next few years, in addition to exporting green hydrogen, which will be the energy of the future,” Guedes said at a Bahia Economic Forum event Monday in Salvador.
“The war out there will last longer. There will be a lot of turbulence if they decide to continue the war,” he said, assessing that prolonging the war may increase the international perception of the country’s importance to energy and food security in the world.
