Passenger boat service between Argentina and Uruguay soon back in operation

The international passenger boat service that covers the route between the cities of Concordia, Entre Ríos, and Salto, Uruguay, is getting closer and closer to being back in operation after four years of stoppage.

In an interview with the Uruguayan portal Salto al Dia, it was stated by Andrés Enrique Juri Pérez, general director of Fluvial and Maritime Transport of the National Transport Directorate of Uruguay.

“Although there is still no specific date for the return of this important boat service, the idea is to restore not only the passenger service linking both cities navigating on the Uruguay River but also to start with tourist tours which, as from the investments that the port will receive, will be of great interest for tourism“, explained Juri.

Finally, he took the opportunity to thank the company Sancristóbal for the great interest in taking over again the operation of this important international boat service between Argentina and Uruguay.

“We are delighted and happy for the great interest of the company Sancristóbal for wanting to resume the activities of the service as soon as possible, since it is essential for the people of Salta and for the many students who have been limited in these years, due to the closure,” concluded Juri.
