A 55-year-old man, the winner of R$47.1 (US$8) million in Mega-Sena in 2020, died this Wednesday (14) in Hortolândia, in the interior of São Paulo, after being found with signs of beating on the banks of the river near Bandeirantes Highway (SP-348).
Jonas Lucas Alves Dias was rescued and taken to the hospital, but he did not make it. The unit’s doctor attested to traumatic brain injury as the cause of death.
The Civil Police found several looting attempts were made when the victim went missing, one of them valued at R$3 million.
Until the last update of this report, no one had been arrested.
In a note, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that about R$20,000 was withdrawn from the victim’s account through bank transfers and via PIX and that the criminals took the debit card.
