Brazil has four airports that are among the most punctual in the world

Four Brazilian airports are among the top 20 airports in the world in terms of punctuality. Londrina (PR) ranked 11th, making it the top-ranked Brazilian airport with 96% on-time departures. Petrolina (PE) reached 13th place with a punctuality rate of 95.5%.

The list also includes the airports of Juazeiro do Norte (CE) and Montes Claros (MG), which ranked 19th and 20th, respectively. For both, 94.60% of departures were registered on time.

The ranking refers to July 2022 and was prepared by thev an institution that specializes in collecting travel data from more than 1,200 airports worldwide.

The global air punctuality report is produced monthly and is based on actual gate times. Flights departing within 15 minutes of the scheduled time are considered on time.

According to the ranking, the world’s most punctual airport is Matsumoto in Japan, with 98.9% on-time performance.

SOUTH AMERICA

Brazilian airports were also highlighted in Skytrax’s 2022 World Airport Awards, which categorize the best airports in the world.

Three Brazilian airports ranked in the top ten among South American terminals: São Paulo – Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo/SP (5th), Tom Jobim – Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro/RJ (7th) and Congonhas Airport in São Paulo/SP (10th). The airports’ customers themselves make the choice.

Brazil also stands out among South American airports in the “best airport staff” category, which recognizes the performance of employees in the front lines of an airport, such as at help desks/information desks and in stores.

The list includes Tom Jobim International Airport (6th) and São Paulo – Guarulhos (7th). In the category of “cleanest airports” in the region in 2022, Brazil occupies three places in the top ten: Tom Jobim – Galeão (6th), São Paulo – Guarulhos (7th), and Recife/Guararapes International Airport in the capital of Pernambuco (10th).
