New regulation: No entry to Venezuela without Covid passport

A new sanitary regulation implemented by the Venezuelan Government came into force this Monday, by means of which all international travelers must present a so-called “Biosecurity Traveler’s Passport” to enter the country

It is a vaccine passport consisting of an electronic validation process of the passenger’s vaccination schedule against COVID-19 and is part of the prevention and containment measures against the new coronavirus.

This pass is mandatory and is managed through the “Biocheck Automated System”, created by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC).

The INAC reiterated that all passengers entering the country by air must register in the Biocheck Automated System and generate their Biosecurity Traveler Pass electronically and free of charge, a process of validating the vaccination scheme against COVID-19.

All international passengers must apply for this pass, regardless of nationality or origin. The pass has been implemented so that the health authorities know the history of vaccinations that the traveler has received.

When the information is validated, the system issues the document, which contains a QR code used by the Venezuelan authorities to validate and register the information provided.

Caracas has implemented the measure in response to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the country, the region, and the world.

Daily, Venezuela reports some “imported cases” of COVID-19, referring to those detected in international travelers entering the country.
