Although the supply of domestic flights has increased, the number of passengers has been lower than before the pandemic. In May, 6.4 million passengers were counted. In 2019, more than 7 million were registered in the same month.

At least three airlines stood out in passenger demand on domestic flights in May: Latam received 33.7% of the market. Azul, 33.3% of passengers, and Gol, 32.6%.

May 2022 freight saw a 6.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2019.
International travel

According to Anac, 1.2 million passengers were handled on international flights in May 2022. Compared to 2019, the number decreased by 36.5%.

However, Anac recorded a record in cargo traffic on international routes. At least 88,000 people were moved out of the country in May this year.
