City in Santa Catarina state elected the best in Brazil -IstoÉ

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The city of Joinville, in the North of Santa Catarina, was elected the best of Brazil in a ranking published by IstoÉ Magazine this week.

Besides getting the best ranking among the large cities, the city also won the overall award among the 5,565 municipalities evaluated.

The Best Cities in Brazil 2022 ranking is produced by Editora Três and Austin Rating agency and considers public indicators in the fiscal, economic, social, and digital areas in the analysis according to the size of each city.

Joinville scored 190 points in the magazine’s ranking, highlighting initiatives such as the O Farol Project, professional training courses, education, culture, health, and the city’s industrial vocation.

“It is a great joy to receive this national recognition of the changes we provide to the city and that the population perceives daily. This is, without a doubt, a great conquest for all Joinville citizens, and that deserves to be celebrated,” said the mayor Adriano Silva.

Besides Joinville, other cities from Santa Catarina are also in the general ranking of the best in the country:

2nd – Jaraguá do Sul
3rd – Blumenau
5th – Florianópolis
9th – São José
14th – Brusque
15th – Criciúma
27th – Itajaí
28th – Balneário Camboriú
40th – São Bento do Sul
49th – Chapecó

Jaraguá do Sul, besides being elected the second-best in Brazil, was also considered the best medium-sized city in the country.
