Paraguay maintains best business climate in Latin America

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The head of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), Luis Castiglioni, and the Investment and Export Network (Rediex) highlighted that, according to the report for the second quarter of 2022, issued by the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), Paraguay continues to lead the business climate ranking by country.

Paraguay achieved the best score after reaching 117.3 points, followed by Peru and Colombia with 102.7 points.

According to the latest quarterly report by the prestigious institution, Paraguay ranks first in terms of the business climate in Latin America.

“Paraguay has been in this position for some time now, which shows that we are capable of achieving what we set out to do,” said Castiglioni during the celebration of the International Day of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), during which the first international congress of consultants in this field was held: “Innovative and competitive MSMEs: support from business development services”.

The event was held at the Aula Magna of the Instituto del Banco Central del Paraguay (BCP).

“This will allow us to move up step by step, we are taking speedy steps, and we have competent people,” said the MIC representative.

He reiterated that MSMEs are responsible for creating 70% of jobs in the country, with a presence that is becoming increasingly visible and influential.

He also explained that the ministry would help the sector strengthen and insert itself in the economic world through the support centers for entrepreneurs, which was also presented on occasion.
