RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Brazilian airline operator Azul reported that consolidated passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 74.0% compared to May 2021.
The company also reported a 70.5% increase in capacity (ASKs), resulting in an occupancy rate of 77.3%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2021.
In the first five months of the year, consolidated passenger traffic grew 48.7% compared to the same period in 2021.
The company’s capacity rose 42.9%, while the occupancy rate reached 79.6%, up 3.1 percentage points.
Azul registered a 59.9% increase in passenger traffic in the domestic market in May 2022.
Capacity (ASKs) was 63.6% higher in May 2022, resulting in an occupancy rate of 76.3%, a retraction of 1.8 p.p. compared with May last year.
In the international market, the advance was more significant, with a 339.9% increase in passenger traffic last month.
Capacity grew 152.6% in May, and the occupancy rate was 85.1%, an increase of 36.2 p.p. compared with the same month in 2021.
