RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Italian airline ITA Airways announced it reached a codeshare agreement with Brazilian airline Azul to connect the two countries.
With this agreement, passengers will be able to fly from Rome to major Brazilian cities such as Belém, Cuiabá, Rio de Janeiro (Santos Dumont), Porto Alegre, Recife, Juazeiro do Norte, Belo Horizonte (Confins), and Curitiba, with a stopover in São Paulo.
The direct flight from the Italian capital to São Paulo, one of Latin America’s main cities, will be operated five times a week during June and July and will become a daily flight from August.
This collaboration will unify the flights into a single ticket, facilitating the transport of luggage and improving the traveler’s experience.
The agreement is part of the objective of ITA, born last October from Alitalia, to expand its presence in Latin America, an important market for passenger transport, tourism, and freight traffic.
