Ford hires 500 engineers for development center in Brazil’s Bahia state

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Despite the closure of its manufacturing operations in Brazil, Ford has announced an expansion of its technology and development center in the country. The company has hired 500 new engineers and specialists to work at the brand’s technology park in Camaçari, Bahia.

For Ford South America President Daniel Justo, the Brazilian engineering team, which will grow to 1,500 professionals with the expansion, plays a vital role in the company’s global development. “It is proof of our country’s capacity and competitiveness in exporting projects and knowledge,” he adds.

This consolidates the Brazilian Development Center as an export hub for Ford projects around the world.

Daniel also points out that the Brazilian team has attracted the attention of Ford Global because of its “excellent preparation” and its “creativity and efficiency.” “That’s why we are taking on more and more responsibility in projects that will determine the future of mobility,” he stressed,

Proof of the importance of Brazilian engineering is the images that recently conquered the Internet. The images, taken on the outskirts of Camaçari, showed models such as the F-150 (already confirmed), the electric Mustang Mach-E, and the large SUVs Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.

Like the last two SUVs, some of them have no intention of entering the Brazilian market. They are only in use in Brazil for touring and testing purposes, which are carried out by Ford’s development center here.
