Argentina acquires rifles, machine guns, and sights for its Air Force

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Argentine Air Force (FAA) announced the acquisition of weapons, vests, and accessories for its Special Operations Group. The purchase was made through a Direct Contracting for Exclusivity abroad with the company Aquila International. The total amount foreseen for the operation exceeds US$1 million.

Among the material acquired are 36 M4A1 assault rifles, six Ohio Ordnance OOW249 machine guns, six M60E6 machine guns, 12 M-203 40 mm grenade launchers, 68 Trijicon MRO HD 1X25 sights, 56 range finders, six DD5V4 precision rifles, six Delta 5 PRO 20” precision rifles, six Delta 5 PRO 20”. 308, 20 MK-18 assault rifles, six telescopic sights with night vision, 20 NVG night vision goggles, four McMillan TAC-50C semi-automatic rifles with their sights, and 180 bulletproof vests (RB2 and RB3), among other items.

REPLACEMENT DUE TO OBSOLESCENCE

According to the document published by the FAA, the material acquisition is based “on the need to acquire armament for the Special Operations Group, to replace equipment that, due to wear, age and obsolescence, is no longer useful”.

According to the official exchange rate, the total preventive amount of the contract amounts to approximately US$1.07 million. This amount must be paid within the first 30 calendar days.

Finally, the particular clauses of the process determine that the material must be delivered within the first 120 days from the date of notification of the supply request. The place foreseen for the delivery is the Force’s facilities in the State of Maryland, USA.
