BARILOCHE, ONE OF THE BEST DESTINATIONS IN THE WORLD FOR SKIING

“Touching the ankles of the Andes, San Carlos de Bariloche is a world-renowned ski destination, set in a landscape that offers all of Argentina’s natural wonders. Visitors can enjoy snow, lakes, and tranquil beaches, plus of vibrant nightclubs and gourmet cuisine. Throughout the year, the area hosts several music festivals, art exhibitions, exhibitions and conventions”, highlights the Tripadvisor ranking.

Among the highlights of Bariloche, the site recommends the Catedral Alta Patagonia ski resort and the Piedras Blancas winter resort.

The Catedral is the unmissable place of any trip to Bariloche, whether for those who know the snow for the first time or for ski fans. It has 32 lifts, 60 slopes and more than 120 kilometers of routes for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

In Cerro Otto, Piedras Blancas is a cheaper alternative and very different from the experience of the Catedral, ideal to go with children and also with friends.

In the complex you can do various activities that guarantee fun and a lot of adrenaline: 3,000 meters of exclusive slopes to go down with sleds, zipline (a kind of hang gliding) to fly over the forest, a 1,000-meter snow tubing track and a photographic safari in motorcycle to discover the incredible landscapes of the mountain.

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO SKI

At the top of the list, considered by travelers as the best place in the world to ski, is Zermatt, in the canton of Valais in southern Switzerland, an alpine resort famous for skiing, mountaineering and hiking.

“When most people think of Zermatt, they think of one thing: the Matterhorn. This late Swiss icon looms over Zermatt and first drew visitors here in the 1860s. The town of Zermatt itself is charming and it’s car-free, with old-fashioned brown chalets and winding alleys.(Don’t worry, you don’t have to walk everywhere, there are electric vehicles and horse-drawn taxis). Skiing in the region often lasts until early summer, but when the weather is warmer, it’s a good time to walk,” describes Tripadvisor.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO SKI THIS WINTER IN ARGENTINA

The ski centers have already launched pre-sale in the countdown to the arrival of a winter season, which they estimate will be a record. Promotions include discounts of up to 30% on lift passes, equipment rentals and group classes.

In the sector they believe that the sale quotas will be exhausted earlier than expected, due to the flood of registered reserves, due to the anticipated snow that hills such as Catedral received in recent days. Conditions permitting, the intention is to open the slopes on the long weekend of June, instead of July 1, the usual opening date.

In Argentina, Cerro Bayo (Villa La Angostura), Chapelco (San Martín de los Andes), La Hoya (Esquel) and Las Leñas (Mendoza) have already put their services up for sale. In the next few days, others will do so, such as Cerro Catedral (Bariloche) and Caviahue (Neuquén).
